Launching AudioMemories!
I'm psyched about our new line of services: AudioMemories!
Our vision for AudioMemories is to allow everyone to record - musical or not. Inspiration for these products come from many sources: our love for wedding slideshows, my own story telling via scrapbooks, Kyle recording his grandparents talking about Christmas traditions, my late grandparents, Kyle's mom recording a CD for Little B (our napless 5 month old son) reading books and singing lullabyes, and my deployments overseas. Remember learning in history class about how things were passed down from generation to generation to generation....through stories? Some days it seems we've traded in that art of story telling for all of this great technology. We believe everyone has a story to tell (or many) and we're excited to help record those. Video definitely has its place, but there's something to be said (excuse the pun) about sitting down and just listening. I love listening to the CD of Kyle's grandparents! The life in their voices that he's captured is priceless.... When I listen, it's like I'm right there with them.
This weekend we recorded Steph's grandma. We went to record her back in December, but when we got there the Layla software wasn't working right. Lesson learned: ALWAYS make sure everything is in tip-top shape before going to record. Kyle tried to troubleshoot it while we were there to no avail. But we got to sit and visit with Steph, her mom, and grandma for awhile. Grandma really loved holding and talking to B! ...and it was fascinating to listen to her tell about when she worked for the radio station during the '60s..... and met Mick Jagger and that one band he had. :D So wish the tape had been rolling then. With all of our emergency trips back to MN (and one vacation) so far this year, it took us a few months to reschedule. This time Grandma was prepared with a few sheets of notes for what she wanted to talk about. Steph's mom and I entertained B in the other room while they recorded in the livingroom. B, of course, was his napless happy self and has recently discovered his voice. *LOL* I guess they got some of that on tape, but are very glad they did because he was being so funny. (Hope they didn't catch too much noise. Of course, in the future we'll have to leave him with a sitter.) Kyle needs to edit and mix it all yet.....I'm excited to listen. We talked about keeping a burned copy of the original and comparing it to the edited recording. It's amazing what he can do in the computer with it - take out "ums", pauses, etc....even some mis-pronounced words ;) .
We're currently working on developing our AudioMemories portfolio. So that's VERY good news, because for a limited time we're offering AudioMemory products (slideshows - narrated or not, audio scrapbooks, and messages like reading books / letters) at an unbelievable discount. We can come to you to record or you can record in the studio. And the final product is yours to keep.
